Two PSU Mens Basketball players receive Little East Conference recognition
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two members of the Plymouth State University men's basketball team were recognized by the Little East Conference Monday with selections to the 2004 All-Conference Team.
Junior guard Nick Pelotte (Bingham, Maine) and junior forward Anthony Oglesby (Brooklyn, N.Y.) both represented PSU on the All-LEC First Team, the second straight year both players have made the First Team. The awards were voted on by the league's eight head coaches, and the announcement made by LEC Commissioner William M. Moore.
A 5'10" guard, Pelotte leads the conference in scoring (18.0 ppg)
and ranks fifth in assists (3.6 apg). He also ranks eighth in the
conference in 3-point field goals made (1.88 per game) and ninth in
3-point field goal percentage (.383). The 2003 LEC Co-Player of the
Year, Pelotte was the LEC Player of the Week twice this season and
was named to the LEC Weekly Honor Roll one other time.

A 6'3" forward, Oglesby leads the LEC in rebounding (9.6 rpg) and
steals (2.8 spg) while contributing 14.3 points per game, which is
second on the team and 14th in the conference. He has scored in
double figures in 15 straight games since putting up a career-high
41 points at Western Connecticut on Jan. 17, and has registered 11
double-doubles on the season, including five in the last eight
games. Oglesby was the LEC Player of the Week once this winter and
made the LEC Weekly Honor Roll on three other occasions.

Pelotte and Oglesby have been instrumental in leading the Panthers to one of the best seasons in school history. PSU, 23-5 overall under fifth-year head coach John Scheinman, has established a program record for wins in a season, and earned its second NCAA Tournament berth, and first since 1996.
The Panthers will host Castleton State (16-12) Thursday evening (7:00 p.m.) at Foley Gymnasium in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
