Leroy named Player of the Week for Panthers
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading scorer for the Plymouth State University men's basketball team earned recognition from the Little East Conference (LEC) for his play last week.
Sophomore Jaylen Leroy (Manchester, N.H.) was named the LEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after the Panthers split a pair of non-conference games.
Leroy scored 25 points and added five rebounds and an assist in Plymouth's 63-60 win at Green Mountain College on Thursday night, but was even more impressive as PSU wrapped up the 2017 portion of the schedule against Johnson State College on Saturday.
The 6-2 guard poured in a career-high 35 points while shooting 13-of-25 (52.0%) from the floor in PSU's 82-76 setback to the Badgers. Leroy added three rebounds, two assists, one steal and a pair of blocks while connecting on 5-of-12 from downtown in the loss.
Leroy is currently tops in the LEC, and 16th in the nation, averaging 23.6 points per game.
Plymouth State (5-5, 0-2 LEC) returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 3, with a non-conference home game against Lyndon State College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
