PSU Hockey players named to ECAC Honor Roll
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two Plymouth State College hockey players were named to the ECAC Weekly Honor Roll for their contributions in three Panther games last week.
Sophomore forward Kevin Creighton (Falmouth, MA) and freshman goaltender Cliff Mask (London, ONT) were both selected to the North/Central/South Honor Roll for the first time this season.
Creighton scored three goals and one assist in PSC's three games last week, extending his goal-scoring streak to four games. He had one goal in all three games, and added an assist in Saturday's win over Worcester State. His goal Sunday against Johnson & Wales came just 11 seconds into the contest.
Mask picked up his first career win with a 32-save performance in the 5-3 win over Worcester State. He also played well in relief in an 8-1 loss Tuesday at Fitchburg State, and made 26 saves in Sunday's 6-4 setback to J&W. For the season, he is 1-4-0 with a 5.00 goals against average and a .838 saves percentage.
Plymouth State is in sixth place in the nine-team ECAC North Conference with a 3-4-1 league mark, and 3-9-1 overall under second-year coach Sal Leale. The Panthers still have sights set on making the ECAC North-Central-South playoffs, but need to go on a winning streak in the final five weeks of the season.
PSC plays its next four and six of the next seven games on the road, including conference match-ups Tuesday (Jan. 20) at Roger Williams (8:00 p.m.) and Saturday (Jan. 24) at Curry College (8:00 p.m.). The next home game isn't until Saturday, Feb. 7, vs. Curry at Waterville Valley Ice Arena.
