PLYMOUTH, N.H.- The scoring leader on the Plymouth State College hockey team has received an honor from the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
Sophomore Kevin Creighton (Falmouth, MA) was named to the ECAC Weekly Honor Roll after tallying four points in two games, highlighted by a one goal, two assist performance in a win against Nichols College.
A 5'8" forward, Creighton has been on fire as of late. He has scored at least one goal in each of the last three games. He scored a hat trick in Sunday's (Feb. 8th) 7-5 loss at Johnson & Wales and came back with a goal in a 5-4 win at Suffolk University on Tuesday. He highlighted his week by having two assists and the game-winning goal in overtime to lift PSC over Nichols last Saturday.
Creighton has surpassed his season points from his freshman year, when he scored five goals and four assists for nine points in 13 games. Creightoin has lifted himself to the top of the Panthers points list with 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points in 21 games.
Plymouth State is in fifth place in the nine team ECAC North Conference with a 7-6-1 league mark, and 9-12-1 overall. Plymouth State is one of four teams jockeying for position for one of the five North/Central/South at-large bids. With three games remaining, the Panthers look to finish the season strong.
PSC plays at UMass Dartmouth Wednesday, Feb. 18th (7:30) in a non-conference match up then finishes up the season with two conference games. Framingham State comes to Waterville Valley Saturday (Feb. 21st) for the last home game (4:00 p.m), then the Panthers travel to Salve Regina on Wednesday (Feb. 25th) for the final regular season game (8:30 p.m.).
