PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two Plymouth State College hockey team have been honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference for their outstanding performances in a pair of games last week.
Freshman Erik Nadeau (Waterville, ME) was selected ECAC North Rookie of the Week, and sophomore Kevin Creighton (Falmouth, MA) was named to the ECAC Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week.
A 5'8", 185-pound forward, Nadeau has really come on over the second half of the season with four goals and seven assists in the last six games. He scored a power play goal in last Wednesday's loss at UMass Dartmouth, and added a one-goal-three assist effort in Saturday's 5-2 win over ECAC North rival Framingham State. Nadeau has moved into third place on the team's scoring list, and tops among freshmen, with 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points in 23 games.
A 5'8" forward, Creighton has moved to the top of the Panther scoring chart with 15 goals and 20 assists in 23 games. He scored a goal against both UMass Dartmouth and Framingham State, stretching his goal-scoring streak to five games. He has registered seven goals and five assists in PSC's last six games.
Plymouth State has won six of its last eight games, improving to 10-13-1 overall and 8-6-1 in the ECAC North under second-year coach Sal Leale. The Panthers have one regular season game remaining, a road outing Wednesday (Feb. 25) at conference opponent Salve Regina (8:30 p.m.).
