WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. - Junior Eric Ryan (No. Chelmsford, MA) scored two goals and assisted on two others Saturday night to lead Plymouth State College to an 8-4 victory over Nichols College in an ECAC Northeast hockey game at Waterville Valley Ice Arena.

The win was the first of the season for the Panthers, and the first in the career of new head coach Mike Bonelli. PSC is now 1-1 both overall and in the ECAC Northeast, while Nichols drops to 1-2 in both departments.

Sophomore Blaine Korbl (Manchester, NH), junior Rich Vega (New Milford, CT) and freshman Aaron Fifield (Northfield Falls, VT) also got into the scoring column for PSC.

The Panthers jumped ahead to a 4-1 lead after one period, with Ryan scoring once and assisting on Vega's power play score before the first intermission. Vega and Ryan added second period scores for PSC, with both of Nadeau's coming in the third period. The game was marred by 35 penalties.

Nichols got its goals from David Foley (Medford, MA), David Jayne (Glen Head, NY), Jeff Thomas (Hull, MA) and Kyle Brown (Keene, NH).

PSC sophomore Cliff Mask (London, Ont.) made 33 saves to pick up the win in his first start of the season. Nichols goalie Pat Nigro (Wakefield, MA) made 28 saves before Jason Latimer (Troy, MI) came on in the third period to make five saves.
