WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. - Junior Keith Wallace (Charlestown, Mass.) scored three goals and two assists and senior David Garofalo (Bridgewater, Mass.) added two goals and three assists, leading New England College to a 9-3 non-conference hockey victory over Plymouth State College Wednesday at Waterville Valley Ice Arena.
The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but was backed up a night due to Tuesday's snowstorm.
PSC senior Eric Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.) provided the highlight for the Panthers in the losing effort. His assist on PSC's third goal was the 100th career point for the Panther senior co-captain. He now has 47 goals and 53 assists in 84 career games, and is the fifth player in school history to reach the milestone.
The Pilgrims took a 3-0 lead 10 minutes into the game, and led 4-0 after the first period. The Panthers cut the deficit to 5-3 early in the third period, but NEC scored four unanswered goals the rest of the way.
Freshman Matt Stack (Laurel Hollow, NY) also scored twice for the Pilgrims, while single goals were added by freshman Ron Dupuis (Berlin, NH) and sophomore Ryan Enrico (Hoboken, NJ).
PSC got its goals from junior Erik Nadeau (Waterville, Maine), sophomore John Hornor (Marlton, NJ) and sophomore Craig Russell (Northfield, VT), his first marker in his first Panther game.
