ECAC Hockey Weekly Honor for Creighton
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the senior forwards on the Plymouth State College ice hockey team has been recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference for his role in the Panthers' 9-3 win over Curry last week.
Senior Kevin Creighton (Falmouth, Mass.) was named to the ECAC Northeast Conference Weekly Honor Roll after turning in a five-point game against Curry. He is just the second Panther to be honored by the ECAC this season.
A 5'8", 170-pound forward, Creighton scored two goals and assisted on three others to lead the Panthers. He moved up to second on the team in scoring with six goals and seven assists in 14 games winter, including a pair of power play goals. He improved his career totals to 33 goals and 49 assists in 77 games.
The Panthers are in a battle for an ECAC Northeast play-off bid, with five league games remaining. PSC, 4-8-2 overall, is 3-3-2 in the conference (8 points) and tied for eighth place with Western New England, one point behind Salve Regina. The top eight teams make the Northeast play-offs, with the winner receiving the first automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
PSC plays a pair of league contests on the road this week - Wednesday (Feb. 9) at Suffolk (8 p.m.) and Saturday (Feb. 12) at Fitchburg State (7:30 p.m.) - before returning home next Tuesday (Feb. 15) to host Tufts (7 p.m.) at Waterville Valley in a key league match-up.
