PLYMOUTH, N.H. - A freshman on the Plymouth State College ice hockey team has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast Division Weekly Honor Roll for his efforts in PSC's season-opening weekend.
Freshman Garrett Dionne (Clarence Center, N.Y.) was the Panthers' Honor Roll recipient for the first week of the season.
Dionne helped give Plymouth State its first win of the season, scoring a power play marker at 2:14 of overtime last Saturday night to lead the Panthers to a 5-4 victory over Nichols College at Waterville Valley Ice Arena. Dionne also collected an assist on PSC's third goal in the first minute of the second period that gave the Panthers a temporary 3-1 lead.
A 5'5", 155-pound forward, Dionne was hauled down in overtime, which created the Panther power play and allowed PSC to pull out the victory.
PSC, 1-1, plays a non-conference game Tuesday (Nov. 21) against New Hampshire College at Tri-Town Arena in Hooksett (7:20 p.m.)
