NEC routs PSC in non-conference game
WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. - New England College outshot Plymouth State College 53-20, and posted a 6-1 non-conference ice hockey victory Tuesday night at Waterville Valley Ice Arena.
Six different players scored goals for the Pilgrims. PSC junior goaltender Larry Forgue (Nashua, N.H.) kept the Panthers in the game until the third period, stopping 36 of 41 shots before giving way with 14 minutes left to play. Freshman Mike Mansson (Wilson, WY) played the final 13:57, making 11 saves and allowing one goal.
Senior Keith Wallace (Charlestown, Mass.) led the NEC attack with a pair of goals. Junior Ryan Enrico (Hoboken, N.J.) chipped in with a goal and two assists, and sophomore John Rose (Potsdam, N.Y.) added a goal and an assist. Seniors Mike Johnson (Millis, Mass.) and Ralph Aiello (Toronto, ONT) registered two assists apiece.
Freshman Matt Toutain (Lewiston, Maine) broke the shutout for PSC, scoring an unassisted goal, his second of the season, with three and a half minutes to play.
PSC is on the road for six games in December, beginning Saturday at Manhattanville College (7:30 p.m.)
