The Chieftains (9-8-1, 8-6 ECAC Northeast) jumped out to a quick 2-0 first period lead on goals by Pascale and junior Dan Rahl (Mystic, Conn.), and the hosts extended that advantage to 3-0 early in the second period on a marker by senior Ethan Andreas (Rockville, Md.). The Panthers (3-16-1, 3-9 ECAC Northeast) got on the board 10:51 into the second stanza on an unassisted goal by senior Erik Nadeau (Waterville, Maine) and then closed to within one at 3-2 just 1:38 into the final period on a power play goal by junior John Hornor (Marlton, N.J.).
Freshman Will O'Connell (Quincy) restored Stonehill's two-goal advantage at the 9:03 mark of the third period, and Pascale completed his hat trick by scoring the final two Chieftain goals of the day, with the last coming with just three seconds remaining in the contest.
