PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the freshmen on the Plymouth State College ice hockey team has been recognized by the ECAC for his performance in three Panther games last week.
Sophomore Aaron Keller (Concord, N.H.) was named ECAC Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week Monday. He is the second Panther to win the award this season, joining freshman Kyle Poirier (Concord, N.H.), who received the honor last month.
A 5'7", 190-pound forward, Keller completed a five-point week with four goals and one assist in PSC's three games, which included a 1-1-1 record. He had a hand in both PSC goals (one goal, one assist) in a 2-2 overtime loss last Tuesday at Southern New Hampshire, and registered a hat trick last Saturday in PSC's 5-1 win over Assumption. Keller moved into second place on the team in scoring with five goals and five assists in 13 games.
The Panthers are 4-9-1 overall, but tied for fifth among the 13 Division III teams in the Northeast at 4-5-0. The Panthers play an exhibition game Wednesday at the Westfield State Club team (7:00 p.m.). The next varsity action is Saturday at Wentworth in an ECAC Northeast conference game (2:00 p.m.).
