ECAC Honors for Bodnar and Forgue

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two members of the Plymouth State College ice hockey team have been honored by the ECAC for their efforts in two Panther games last week.

Senior Larry Forgue (Nashua, N.H.) and freshman Michal Bodnar (Laconia, N.H.) were both named to the ECAC Northeast Weekly Honor Roll Monday. It is the second straight week and third time this season that Forgue has been recognized by the ECAC, while Bodnar was selected for the first time this year.

A 5'9", 170-pound goaltender, Forgue registered a .924 saves percentage, a 3.00 goals against average and a 1-1 record for the week. He made 31 saves in a 3-2 conference win at Suffolk, and added 42 saves in a 4-3 loss at Fitchburg State. It was the fifth time this season Forgue has made more than 40 saves in a game.

A 5'10", 175-pound forward, Bodnar scored two goals and an assist in PSC's 1-1 week. He scored both goals in the 3-2 win at Suffolk, including the game-winner on a third-period penalty shot. He then added one assist in a 4-3 loss at Fitchburg. Bodnar has scored four goals in eight games since joining the team at mid-season.

After a non-conference home game Tuesday against former Northeast member Tufts, Plymouth State (5-12-1 overall and 5-8-0 in the Northeast) has a showdown game Sunday at Worcester State. The Panthers and Lancers (5-13-3 and 4-7-2) are tied for the eighth and final play-off berth heading into the final week of the season.
