PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the newcomers on the Plymouth State College ice hockey team has been recognized by the ECAC Northeast Conference for his performance in the Panthers' first two games of the season.
Freshman Rory Nickerson (West Chatham, Mass.) was named to the ECAC Northeast Weekly Honor Roll. He collected four points as PSC posted a loss and a tie in its first two contests.
A 6'1", 185-pound forward, Nickerson led the Panthers with three assists last Wednesday in a 9-4 season-opening loss to Stonehill. He added an assist on the game-tying goal in the third period of last Saturday's 2-2 overtime deadlock with UMass Dartmouth. Nickerson leads the Panthers in scoring after two games with the four points.
PSC plays its next three games on the road, beginning with a non-conference encounter next Tuesday (Dec. 3) at the University of Southern Maine (7:00 p.m.).
