PSU Men’s Ice Hockey player recognized by the ECAC

PLYMOUTH, N.H.

- One of the top freshmen on the Plymouth State University men's ice hockey team was honored by the ECAC Northeast Conference Wednesday for his performance in two Panther games last week.

Freshman forward Deni Bojadzic (Gothenburg, Sweden) was named to the ECAC Northeast Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 20. Bojadzic was also named ECAC Northeast Player of the Week back in November.

A 5'11", 185-pound forward, Bojadzic finished the week with two goals and four assists, leading PSU to a 2-0 record and moving the Panthers closer to clinching the fourth and final home-ice advantage in the first round of the play-offs. He had one goal and two assists in last Wednesday's 4-2 win over Franklin Pierce, including a power play goal, and added a goal and two assists in the 8-5 win over Worcester State. He was named the #2 star in both games.

Bojadzic is second on the Panthers in scoring this season with 11 goals and 25 points in 23 games. He is also tied for third in the conference among freshmen scorers.

PSU completed the regular season Tuesday night with a 3-2 overtime victory over Western New England College.  The ECAC Northeast Conference Tournament begins this Saturday (Feb. 26), with the fourth-seeded Panthers hosting either Fitchburg State or Johnson & Wales at 7:30 p.m. at Waterville Valley Ice Arena.

Plymouth State's first-round opponent will be determined based on the outcome of Wednesday's (Feb. 23) regular season finale between Johnson & Wales and Salve Regina.  A JWU victory would send the Wildcats to Waterville Valley, while a tie or a Salve win would send Fitchburg State to face the Panthers.
