PSU Mens Hockey goalie named to ECAC Honor Roll
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The starting goaltender
on the Plymouth State University men's ice hockey team was
recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference Tuesday with
selection to the ECAC Northeast Weekly Honor Roll.
Freshman Allen Schneider (Strongsville, Ohio) was Plymouth State's representative on this week's list of ECAC honors. Schneider was honored for the second straight week as he was named ECAC Goalie of the Week last Tuesday.
A 6'1", 170-pound goalie, Schneider (right) posted a 1-0-1
record on the week with a 1.92 goals against average and a .949
saves percentage. He made 25 saves in Wednesday's 4-2 win
over Southern New Hampshire and he made a season-high 49 stops in
Saturday's 2-2 overtime tie at Assumption.
Schneider continued lowering his season statistics and now owns a .914 save percentage and a 3.37 goals against average. He ranks fifth among the 28 goalies in the conference and tops among freshmen in save percentage, and he is 10th overall and third among freshmen in GAA.
PSU is unbeaten in its last six games (4-0-2), improving to 7-8-2 overall and 3-4-2 in league play. The Panthers play a pair of conference road games this week - Thursday at Framingham State (7:20 p.m.) and Saturday at Wentworth (7:15 p.m.)
