Greco honored after Panthers post MASCAC split
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the leading scorers on the Plymouth State University men's ice hockey team was recognized Monday with a weekly honor from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC).
Senior Kyle Greco (Hillside, Ill.) was named to the MASCAC Weekly Honor Roll for his performance in the first two conference games of the season. Greco helped the Panthers to a split in a pair of one-goal contests on the road, a 3-2 overtime loss at Westfield State University and a 6-5 victory at Framingham State University.
A 6'0", 190-pound forward, Greco recorded four points on three goals and one assist in the two Panther games. He tallied a power play goal in Tuesday's setback at Westfield State, and he contributed two goals and an assist in Thursday's win at Framingham State. Both of his goals came in the second period when PSU turned a tie game into a 4-2 lead.
Greco, a returning All-MASCAC First Team selection, has three goals and two assists in the Panthers' first three games. He is expected to be one of the league's scoring leaders again this season.
Plymouth State, 2-1-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the MASCAC, plays a non-conference game Monday, Nov. 19, at Matthews Arena in Boston against Wentworth Institute of Technology. It is a rematch of last season's NCAA Division III Tournament First Round match-up.
