Cottle, Richardson and Zobak aiming to play in ECHL
WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) announced Friday that four players have been signed to Amateur Try-Outs (ATO's). Richard Zobak, Alex Cottle and JC Richardson are former Plymouth State University Panthers and Alex Breeden is a former University of Wisconsin Blue Devil.
The Eagles play in the Mountain Division of the Western Conference of the ECHL.
Zobak, an Evergreen Park, Illinois native, played in 27 games last season with the Panthers scoring four goals and notching 13 assists. He was a four-time First Team All-Conference selection in his PSU career, finishing with 19 goals and 60 assists for 79 points in 105 games.
Cottle, hailing from West Chester, Pennsylvania, racked up 32 points in 27 games last season by recording eight goals and 24 assists. He was named First Team All-Conference in 2012-13 and ranks second in assists (79) and sixth in points (106) on PSU's career scoring lists.
Richardson, a Fort Collins, Colorado native, also played in 27 games last season as a Panther where he registered three goals and seven assists. He was a two-year captain and starting defenseman, recording 10 goals and 37 assists in 105 career games.
The three were key players in helping the Panthers to two regular season conference titles the past two years and the 2012 MASCAC Tournament championship.
