PSU Men’s Ice Hockey appears in USCHO.com D-III poll

Panthers among teams receiving votes after win over #6 Endicott

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men's ice hockey team appeared on the initial USCHO.com Division III Men's Hockey Poll after upsetting previously ranked #6 Endicott College, 3-2, in Friday's season opener.

            The Panthers, last year's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) regular season champions and tournament runners up, earned 13 points to appear in the receiving votes category.

            St. Norbert (Wisc.) topped the poll with 284 points, with Adrian (Mich.) and Wisconsin-Stevens Point rounding out the top three. Adrian earned 272 points, with Stevens Point, the only school in the top three to have played a game thus far, earning 259 points. Endicott fell to #12 in the poll following the loss to PSU. The Gull earned 67 points.

            Plymouth State opens MASCAC play tomorrow with a road game at Worcester State with puck-drop set for 7:00 p.m. The Panthers will open the home schedule on Saturday (Nov. 4) against NCAA D-II Stonehill College on Alumni Night. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.

            PSU will square off against Trinity College (#4 in the poll) on November 25, and MASCAC rival Salem State also appears in the receiving votes category with 2 points.
