Zuccaro named to Weekly Honor Roll

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the captains of the Plymouth State University men's ice hockey team was recognized by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) after helping lead the Panthers to a 5-3 win over conference foe Fitchburg State University last Thursday.

Senior Chris Zuccaro (Hudson, N.H.) was named to the MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Honor Roll after notching three points to push the Panthers past Fitchburg, running the team's winning streak to three straight games to open 2018.

Zuccaro finished with a goal and two assists in PSU's seventh straight MASCAC win. The 6-1 forward erased an early 1-0 deficit with his fifth goal of the year at the 6:50 mark of the first period. He added a helper on the Panthers' third score of the game in the second period, pushing the PSU lead to 3-1. After Fitchburg cut the deficit to 4-3 early in the third period, his pass set up junior Matt Volonnino (Hackettstown, N.J.) for the game's final tally to give the Panthers some breathing room.

The Panthers (11-3-1, 7-1-0 MASCAC) travel to league-rival Salem State on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
