Panthers to host Worcester State on Tuesday

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Following opening weekend, the Plymouth State University men's ice hockey team remained among those receiving votes in both the USCollegeHockey.com (USCHO) and D3hockey.com polls.

St. Norbert retained its hold on the top spot in both national polls, while Adrian and Geneseo round out the top three in both.

Plymouth State, which received ten points in the USCHO.com preseason poll, remained in the "receiving votes" section with three points.

The Panthers earned five points in the D3hockey.com poll.

PSU opened the 2018-19 campaign with a convincing 5-0 win over Johnson & Wales University on Saturday. Senior goaltender Evan Morelli (Reading, Mass.) made 18 stops to pick up his seventh career shutout to earn MASCAC Goalie of the Week honors, while classmate Michael Covach (Shillington, Pa.) had his first career four point game (2G, 2A) to pace the Panthers' offense. Covach's performance garnered Weekly Honor Roll recognition.

Plymouth State (1-0-0) plays host to Worcester State in the MASCAC opener on Tuesday (Oct. 30). PSU has gone 21-5-3 against the Lancers since joining the league for the 2009-10 season, including an 8-1-0 mark over the last three seasons.

The full polls can be found at USCHO.com and D3hockey.com.
