Barone named to Weekly Honor Roll for Panthers

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University men's ice hockey sophomore JR Barone (West Chester, Pa.) was among those honored when the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) announced its weekly award winners on Monday afternoon.

Barone was named to the MASCAC Weekly Honor Roll after notching a pair of goals during the Panthers' 4-1 win over Salem State University on Thursday.

Barone scored the game-winner at the 10:11 mark of the first period when her fired a shot bar down from just outside the crease to give PSU a 2-0 lead. His third period tally gave the Panthers some insurance after he deposited a feed from senior Ludvig Steenberg (Stockholm, Sweden) from the left faceoff circle.

Barone's six goals are tied for the fourth most on the team and he leads the Panthers with two game-winners.

Plymouth State (9-4-3, 6-2-2 MASCAC) travels to Salve Regina University for a midweek clash with the #14/#15 Seahawks on Tuesday (Jan. 22), before returning to MASCAC play at Framingham State on Thursday (Jan. 24).
