PSU Men’s Ice Hockey player earns MASCAC honor

Stevens named Player of the Week after MASCAC Tournament 

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Just days after helping guide Plymouth State University to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Ice Hockey Tournament championship, senior Ryan Stevens (Colleyville, Texas) was named the league's Player of the Week, presented by GEICO.

            Stevens notched a goal and four assists to lead the top-seeded Panthers to a third tournament title and NCAA appearance, garnering tournament Most Valuable Player honors in the process.

            The 6-3 forward dished out three assists as the Panthers cruised past Worcester State University, 6-1, in Tuesday's semifinal, then scored the game-winning goal and added an assist as PSU blanked Salem State University, 3-0, for the title on Saturday.

            Stevens is fourth on the team with 11 goals and second on the squad with 25 assists.

            Plymouth State (17-7-3) travels to #6/#8 Hobart College (19-7-2) on Saturday (Mar. 9) for the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
