PSC Men's Lacrosse falls to WNEC in home opener
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Senior P.J. Wicker (New Windsor, NJ) and junior Tom Nolan (Pittsfield, MA) combined for nine goals and two assists Saturday to lead Western New England College to a 15-10 victory over Plymouth State College in PSC's home opener.
Wicker scored five goals and one assist to lead the Golden Bears, while Nolan contributed four goals and one assist. Junior Mike Loock (Chatham, NJ) added two goals and an assist for WNEC.
The win improves WNEC's record to 3-6, while Plymouth State falls to 1-2 under first-year head coach Bob Ewell.
The Golden Bears led 3-1 after one period, and 6-3 at the half. WNEC scored five times in the third period to take an 11-6 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Panthers were led by junior Ben Stone (Acton, MA), who scored three goals and one assist. Sophomore Jim Martocchio (Simsbury, CT) added three goals, increasing his team-leading season total to 13 goals. Senior Josh Perry (Falmouth, MA) recorded a goal and five assists, setting up Martocchio and Stone on two occasions each.
PSC gets right back to action Monday (Apr. 5) with its first Pilgrim League contest at Salem State (4 p.m.).
