Pilgrim League Honors for PSC Men's Lacrosse Duo

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two members of the Plymouth State College men's lacrosse team have been honored by the Pilgrim League for their performances in a pair of games last week.

Freshman Jason Biedrzycki (Amherst, NH) was selected Pilgrim League Northwest Division Rookie of the Week, and junior Jim Martocchio (Simsbury, Conn.) was named to the Pilgrim League Weekly Honor Roll. They were PSC's leaders in a 1-1 week that saw the Panthers edge Saint Michael's College in overtime, 14-13, and lose to defending league champion Eastern Connecticut, 19-4.

A 5'10", 200-pound midfielder, Biedrzycki collected five points in PSC's two games. He registered a goal and two assists in the overtime win vs. St. Michael's, and came back with two of PSC's four goals against ECSU, the top-ranked defensive team in the country. He is tied for third on the team in scoring with 12 goals and five assists.

A 5'8", 178-pound attackman, Martocchio completed a 13-point week for the Panthers. He erupted for an NCAA-season-best 11 goals against Saint Michael's, including the game-winner in overtime, before his lowest output of the season with one goal at ECSU. Martocchio, who owns the PSC single-season school record with 57 goals, has scored 54 times this season, with six regular season games remaining. He leads all of Division III with 6.00 goals per game this spring.

PSC, 6-3 overall and 2-1 in Pilgrim League Northwest Division games (prior to a game at New England College on Apr. 17), returns to Panther Field Wednesday (Apr. 19) against Maine Maritime (3:30 p.m.).
