Three PSU Mens Lacrosse players named to All-LEC Team
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Three starters on the Plymouth State University men's lacrosse team were recognized by the Little East Conference Tuesday with selection to the All-Conference Team as voted by the league's head coaches.
Senior defender Tim Butler (Concord, Mass.), junior attackman Adam Krinsky (Concord, N.H.) and freshman attackman Wes Downing (Glastonbury, Conn.) were all voted LEC Second Team All-Stars. It is the third straight all-conference selection for Krinsky, the second in a row for Butler, and the first for Downing.
A three-year starter on defense, Butler (right) anchored
a solid Panther unit that ranked second in the league in fewest
goals allowed. He regularly marked the opponent's top attackman,
helping shut down the best scorers in the league, while collecting
20 ground balls. Butler is a two-sport all-star for Plymouth State,
having been named a New England Football Conference Boyd Division
All-Star last fall.
A co-captain and three-year starter on offense, Krinsky
(left) led the team in scoring for the second straight
season, racking up 48 points (20 goals, 28 assists). He ranked
fourth in the LEC in assists and fifth in points. With a year of
eligibility remaining, Krinsky ranks 10th on PSU's career scoring
list with 154 points (75 goals, 79 assists).
A starter on attack as a freshman, Downing (right) led
the Panthers in goal-scoring with 27, and finished second with 31
points. He also collected 27 ground balls, and led the team with 78
shots.
These three All-Stars were the standouts on a Panther team that takes a 9-6 overall record into this weekend's ECAC New England Tournament at PSU. Plymouth State placed tied for third place in the LEC in the regular season with a 3-3 mark, and was knocked out of the conference tournament in the first round.
