POMONA, N.J. - The Plymouth State University men's lacrosse team outscored Richard Stockton College 6-1 in the middle two quarters Thursday afternoon and went on to post an 11-7 victory over the Ospreys in a non-conference contest.
Senior Adam Krinsky (Concord, N.H.) led the Panthers with team highs of three goals, two assists and five points. Eight Plymouth State players scored one goal apiece. Panthers' freshman goalie Billy Morgan (Winchester, Mass.) made 18 saves in the winning effort.
Junior Jonathan Kelly (Howell, N.J.) led Stockton with two goals and one assist while Steve Mazurek (Jackson, N.J.) netted two goals for the Ospreys. Stockton goalie Pete Marcelliano (Morristown, N.J.) registered 15 saves in the game.
Junior Keith Bologno (Glen Gardner, N.J.) scored just 29 second after the opening whistle to give Stockton its only lead of the game. Krinsky snapped a 2-2 tie with a second-quarter goal that gave Plymouth State the lead for good. Freshman Andrew Eriksen (Beverly, Mass.) tallied a late goal to give the Panthers a 3-2 lead at halftime.
Sophomore Brian Giroux (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H.), Krinsky, and sophomore Kyle Belanger (Southington, Conn.) scored the only three goals of the third quarter to give Plymouth State a commanding 7-2 lead. The Panthers were in front by at least three goals the rest of the way.
Plymouth State is scheduled to play its next game at Lasell College next Wednesday, March 26, at 3:30 p.m. Stockton will host Centenary in a Skyline Conference game on Saturday at 6 p.m.
