Keene State posts men’s lax win over Plymouth State

            KEENE, N.H. - Keene State College's men's lacrosse team remained unbeaten Thursday afternoon, posting an 18-6 victory over Plymouth State University in Little East Conference action.  The 18th-ranked Owls are now 6-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

            Senior Peter Lauranzano (Beverly, Mass.) scored a season-high four goals and dished out three assists to lead Keene State.  Tony Santa Fe (Derry, N.H.) finished with three goals and three assists while Ryan Hazelton (Chester, N.H.), Michael Fontaine (Wolfeboro, N.H.), Josh Nugent (Cheshire, Conn.), and Jamie Lesage (Exeter, N.H.) scored two goals each. 

            With the scored knotted at three-all after the first quarter, Keene State rattled off eight unanswered goals.  The Owls led 9-3 at the half and 12-4 ant the end of three quarters.

            Casey Brodersen (Derry, N.H.), Alex Loscialpo (Westport, Conn.) and Warren Dill (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) had single goals for the Owls.

            Sophomore Brian Giroux (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H.) tallied three goals to lead Plymouth State (5-4, 0-3 LEC).  Senior Tony Aguiar (Northborough, Mass.) and sophomores Tim Hadley (New London, N.H.), and Tyler Snow (Loudon, N.H.) also had goals for the Panthers.

            Matt Johnson (Derry, N.H.) made nine saves in goal for the Owls before giving way to Billy Brooks (Lewiston, Me.) who stopped two shots.  Both freshmen Billy Morgan (Winchester, Mass.) and Kevin Hayes (Beverly, Mass.) saw action in goal for PSU; Morgan made nine saves and Hayes stopped eight shots.

            Keene State has won the last seven games against its rival.

            Both teams are scheduled to play road LEC games on Saturday. The Owls are at Western Conn. and the Panthers are at UMass-Boston (1:00 p.m.)
