Plymouth State Lacrosse players earn Little East honors
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two Plymouth State
University lacrosse players were recognized by the Little East
Conference on Monday for their performances in early season games
last week.
Senior Brian Giroux (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H./Brewster Academy) was named Little East Conference men’s lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, and senior Morgan Lemmon (Gilford, N.H./Bishop Brady) was selected LEC women’s lacrosse Goalie of the Week. They helped the Panthers to a week that was highlighted by a doubleheader sweep of Castleton State College last Saturday in Vermont.
A 5’9”, 175-pound attackman, Giroux (right)
registered seven points (four goals, three assists) in two games,
helping PSU to a 1-1 record. He scored two goals in
PSU’s 13-8 loss at Colby on Thursday and followed with two
goals and three assists in PSU’s 11-4 victory Saturday at
Castleton. He collected one ground ball against Colby and
four against Castleton.
A 5’4” goalie, Lemmon (left) made eight saves
in PSU’s only game, a 14-8 victory over Castleton on
Saturday. She also picked up two ground balls to record
her second straight victory. Lemmon is in her first full
season as a Panther lacrosse goalie after four years as a
midfielder/forward on the field hockey team.
Both Panther teams are back in action Tuesday with 4:00 p.m. non-conference road games. The Panther women (2-1) are at Framingham State and the men (1-2) travel to Massachusetts Maritime.
