PSU Mens Lacrosse player repeats LEC honor
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading scorer on the
Plymouth State University men’s lacrosse team was recognized
by the Little East Conference for the second straight week on
Monday for his high-scoring efforts in two Panther games last
week.
Senior Brian Giroux (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H./Brewster Academy) was named Little East Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Keene State College sophomore Griffin Meehan (Simsbury, Conn.) Giroux also earned the top LEC offensive honor a week ago, the first week of the season.

tied for the week's league lead in scoring by registering 12 points
(10-2) in two games, helping Plymouth State to a 1-1 record. He
scored a career-high seven goals to go with two assists for a
career-best nine points in Tuesday’s 13-7 win at Mass.
Maritime. He then went on to score three goals in
Thursday’s 11-8 setback at Babson College. Giroux also
picked up four ground balls in the win against Mass. Maritime.
Giroux, an All-LEC Second Team selection in 2008, is off to an outstanding start this season. He leads the team in scoring with 14 goals, five assist and 19 points in five games. Giroux also ranks fourth in the Little East with 2.80 goals per game and third with 4.25 points per game, and he is ranked sixth with 1.25 assists per outing.
The Panthers, 2-3, are back in action Wednesday with a non-conference match-up at Clark University (5:00 p.m.). PSU’s LEC opener is this Saturday at Western Connecticut (12:00 p.m.)
