PSU Mens Lax player named to prestigious All-Star game
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the top defenders on the 2010 Plymouth State University men’s lacrosse team will represent his team and his school this Sunday at a prestigious All-Star game held by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
Senior Tim Nicholson (Franklin, Mass.) was
selected to play in the NEILA East-West All-Star game this Sunday
(June 6) at 4:00 p.m. at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass.
The teams are made up of senior standouts from New England schools
in all the NCAA Divisions. Nicholson will suit up for the
West team, one of five Little East Conference players participating
in the game and one of 15 Division III players on the 24-man West
squad.
Nicholson, a 6’1”, 237-pounder, was in the thick of the Panther defense this season, collecting 26 grounds balls as PSU kept opposing team to less than 10 goals per game. He earned First Team All-Little East Conference honors after garnering Second Team honors a year ago. Nicholson enjoyed a strong two-year lacrosse career for the Panthers after playing football at Plymouth State for four years (2005-08) and earning All-Conference honors as a tight end in 2008.
Plymouth State finished the season with an 8-8 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the LEC under second-year head coach Gordon Webb. PSU started the season 2-6 and rebounded to go 6-2 the rest of the way to finish at the .500 mark.
