PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the key defenders on the Plymouth State University men’s lacrosse team was honored Tuesday with selection to the All-Little East Conference Team for the 2011 season.

Senior defensemen Justin Dube (Buzzards Bay, Mass./Bourne) was named to the All-LEC First Team.  In addition, the entire Panther team was honored by receiving the LEC Team Sportsmanship Award as voted by the league’s head coaches.

Dube, 6’1”, 185-pound long-stick defender, stood out as one of the top defenders in the conference.  In addition to marking the opponents’ top scorers, Dube led the team and ranked fourth in the LEC in ground balls with a total of 69 (4.6 per game).  He was also named LEC Defensive Player of the Week once in April.

Plymouth State finished the season with a 7-8 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the LEC under third-year head coach Gordon Webb.  PSU played its first nine games on the road and competed on its home field in just three of its 15 contests.
