Two PSU Men’s Lacrosse players named All-LEC
Curley, Morello represent Panthers on Second Team
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two freshmen on the Plymouth State University men's lacrosse team were honored Tuesday with selection to the All-Little East Conference Team for the 2012 season.
Curley, 5'9", 177-pound long pole, was PSU's top shut-down defender and one of the top defenders in the conference. Curley led the team and ranked third in the LEC in ground balls, picking up an average of 5.06 per game, while posting s team-high 31 caused turnovers. He was also named LEC Defensive Player of the Week once in March.
Morello, 5'10", 210-pound attack, was one of the top scorers in the conference this spring. He led PSU with 37 goals and 50 points, ranking sixth in the LEC in both categories. Morello was named LEC Rookie of the Week three times and LEC Offensive Player of the Week once back in March.
Plymouth State finished the season with a 10-6 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the LEC under fourth-year head coach Gordon Webb. PSU pulled off an upset victory at Western Connecticut in the first round of the LEC Tournament but fell to Keene State in the semifinals.
