PSU Men’s Lacrosse announces 2019 schedule

Panthers to open season Mar. 2 

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Despite recent frigid temperatures, the Plymouth State University men's lacrosse team is looking forward spring and the start of the 2019 campaign as 11th-year head coach Gordon Webb has revealed the team's 2019 schedule.

            The Panthers have reached the Little East Conference (LEC) tournament semifinals in nine of Webb's ten years at the helm, but are looking to qualify for the league's championship game for the first time since 2008 this spring.

            Plymouth State is set to play a 15-game schedule, which includes eight LEC contests as Castleton University joins the league for its first year.

            PSU opens the season at the University of New England on March 2, the first of eight-straight road games for the Panthers. Included in the stretch is the conference opener, a Mar. 23 contest at Eastern Connecticut State University.

            The Panthers wrap up the eight game trip with their second league game on Mar. 30 at WestConn, before the home opener against the University of Southern Maine on Apr. 3.

            Plymouth State will enjoy home field advantage for five of its next six games, including LEC contests against Salem State, Keene State and wrapping up with a league game with Castleton on Apr. 23.

            PSU's regular season finale is set for Apr. 26 at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, ahead of the LEC tournament, which will feature the top six teams in the final regular season standings.

            The top two seeds will receive first round byes, with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting opening round games on Apr. 30 at the higher seeds. The semifinal and championship matches will be hosted in a "Final Four" format at the site of the No. 1 seed on May 3 and 4, with the winner earning the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship.
