Mike Wilus joined the men's lacrosse program as an assistant coach starting in 2018, primarily working with the offensive unit, and was promoted to Interim Head Coach following the retirement of Gordon Webb in January 2020. In 2019 Wilus helped lead the Panthers to their best LEC record in program history.
Prior to joining the staff at Plymouth State, Wilus was named the first assistant men’s lacrosse coach for Lynn University in May, 2013 and was promoted to Associate Head Coach on Aug. 1, 2016. After a 1-10 inaugural campaign, Wilus helped lead the Fighting Knights to an 8-7 tally in 2015 and 9-5 in 2016.
Wilus joined the Fighting Knights following a two-year stint at NCAA Division III Gwynedd-Mercy College. During his tenure at GMC, the Griffins posted an 18-12 overall record while going 9-4 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Wilus’ squad made strides each season at Gwynedd-Mercy including a 10 percent increase in production for the man-up unit that ranked top-30 in Division III. In 2012, Laxpower.com named GMC as the fifth most improved team throughout NCAA Division III lacrosse.
Wilus played in 37 career games as member of the Division I University of Massachusetts men’s lacrosse team from 2007-11. The Minutemen went 32-26 during his career and made the NCAA Tournament in his sophomore season for the first time since 2006.
Wilus also serves as a member of the Plymouth State admissions team, holding the role of Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions.
