PSC Men's Soccer player to participate in Senior All-Star Game
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of Plymouth State College's men's soccer players has been selected to play in the New England Intercollegiate Soccer League Senior All-Star Game on Friday, May 5th, at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.
Midfielder Kevin Martin (Foxboro, MA) will join the Division III and NAIA squad that will challenge the top seniors from Divisions I and II.
A PSC captain in '98 and '99, Martin led the Panthers in scoring last fall with an impressive 10 goals from midfield and five assists for 25 points. He was named to the All-Little East Conference First Team and All New England Second Team. He finished his career with a total of 15 goals, 13 assists and 43 points in 45 games, following his 1995 transfer from UMass Amherst.
Martin sat out his 1995 and 1996 campaigns before suffering a season-ending injury in the opening game of 1997. He returned in 1998, scoring five goals and leading the team with eight assists, and was named to the LEC First Team, All New England First Team and All-America Second Team.
Martin was instrumental in PSC reaching the final of the '99 Little East Conference Tournament and finishing with a 6-1-0 conference mark.
Last year the Panthers were represented at the Senior All-Star Game by keeper Shawn Higgins and forward Jesse Elderkin.
