PSC Mens Soccer knocks off Roger Williams, 3-1
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Plymouth State College scored three goals in the final nine minutes of the men's soccer game Saturday at Panther Field to earn a 3-1 victory over Roger Williams University.
After both teams played 81 minutes of scoreless soccer, the visiting Hawks got on the board at the 81:13 mark on a goal by sophomore Tim Amato (East Brunswick, NJ).
The goal must have awoken the Panthers, because the offense came alive. Senior Simon Sendowski (Gothenburg, Sweden) converted a penalty kick less than a minute later to tie the score at 1-1. Junior Antoine Moiboueyi (Gabon, Africa/Acton-Boxborough H.S.) added the game winner three minutes later, with an assist from senior Jeremy Gasowski (Lee, NH), and freshman Michael Cantelli (Raymond, NH) rounded out the scoring with just under three minutes remaining.
PSC keeper Brad Wilby (Haddonfield, NJ) made three saves to earn the victory. RWU keeper Greg Somerville (Brick, NJ) was credited with 13 saves.
PSC returns to action Wednesday with a non-conference match at Wheaton (4 p.m.). Roger Williams returns home to host Salve Regina Wednesday (4 p.m.)
