PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Plymouth State College spoiled Rhode Island College's Homecoming Saturday with a 2-0 win Saturday afternoon in a Little East Conference men's soccer affair.
The Panthers remain perfect in LEC competition with a 4-0-0 mark, 10-3-0 overall, while RIC drops to 6-6-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the conference. Junior Antoine Moiboueyi (Gabon, Africa) scored an unassisted tally at the 11:27 mark, his team-leading eighth goal of the season, and that was all PSC would need to secure the victory. Senior Simon Sendowski (Gothenburg, Sweden) added an insurance goal in the 69th minute, with some help from senior Jeremy Gasowski (Lee, NH), his team-high sixth assist of the year.
PSC junior goalkeeer Scott Laine (Spencer, Mass.) picked up his third shutout of the season in as many starts, making two saves. Laine has not allowed a goal this season in 270 minutes of play.
Plymouth State plays a pair of LEC matches this week - Tuesday (Oct. 17) at Southern Maine (3:30 p.m.) and Saturday (Oct. 21) at Panther Field against UMass Dartmouth (3 p.m.)
