BRISTOL, R.I.. - The Plymouth State College men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season Saturday with a 2-1 non-conference victory over Roger Williams University.
PSC got both of its goals in the first half. Sophomore Michael Cantelli (Raymond, N.H.) scored his second goal of the season at the 11:45 mark, with an assist from senior Garry Thomson (Glasgow, Scotland), and senior Antoine Moiboueyi (Gabon, Africa) added his first of the season eight minutes later, with senior John Foster (Haddonfield, N.J.) assisting.
The Panthers outshot the Hawks, 10-5. PSC senior goalkeeper Scott Laine (Spencer, Mass.) was credited with one save, while RWU keeper Brian Fish made three saves.
Plymouth State, 1-2-0, plays its first home match of the season this Wednesday (Sept. 19) against nationally-ranked Wheaton College (4:00 p.m.). Roger Williams is now 2-3-1.
