Plymouth State Mens Soccer blanks Endicott in opening match
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Freshman Justin Flanagan (Hingham, Mass.) knocked home a cross in the seventh minute of play Saturday afternoon, and the goal held up as the game-winner to give Plymouth State University a 1-0 victory over Endicott College in the men's soccer season opener at Panther Field.
The Panthers had a 16-10 advantage in shots, but could manage only the goal by Flanagan at the 6:50 mark, which was assisted by freshman Jamal Luttamaguzi (Stockholm, Sweden).
Senior Dan Custance (Holderness, N.H.) was credited with three saves to earn the shutout in his collegiate debut. Junior Colin Kemble (Saugerties, N.Y.) made six saves in the Endicott goal.
PSU, 1-0-0, plays another non-conference contest Wednesday at Gordon College (3:30 p.m.), while Endicott returns home to host Brandeis Monday at 4:00 p.m.
