PSU Men’s Soccer player receives top LEC weekly honor
Schrey leads Panthers in LEC win over UMass Dartmouth
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading scorer
on the Plymouth State University men’s soccer team was
recognized by the Little East Conference Monday for his performance
in a Panther conference victory last Saturday.
Senior Tommy Schrey (Munich, Germany/Alvirne H.S., N.H.) was named LEC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. He played a part in all three Panther goals last Saturday as PSU defeated the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, 3-1, to pick up its first LEC win of the year.
A 5’8”, 140-pound forward, Schrey
(right) scored two goals and assisted on the other in
PSU’s conference win over UMD, including scoring the
game-winner with five minutes remaining. He assisted on
PSU’s first goal, which tied the match at 1-1 midway through
the first half, he notched the goal-ahead goal with 5:12 left in
the second half, and he added his second goal into an empty net in
the final minute.
Schrey leads the Panthers with five goals and on e assist for 11 points in 13 games this season, including two game-winners. He is tied for sixth in the LEC in goals and tied for eighth in points.
The Panthers, 5-7-1 overall and 1-4-0 in conference matches, travels to Castleton on Wednesday for a non-conference match-up, and returns home to host UMass Boston and Babson on Saturday and Sunday in the final home games of the season.
