Ohlsson, Karlstrand recognized after win over Keene
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two members of the Plymouth State University men's soccer team were recognized by the Little East Conference Monday for their performances in PSU's victory Saturday over rival Keene State College.
Senior Bjorn Ohlsson (Halmstad, Sweden) and freshman Ted Karlstrand (Halmstad, Sweden) were named LEC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week, respectively. They were key players in PSU's upset over the Owls, giving the Panthers their first conference win of the season.
A 6'1", 178-pound goalkeeper, Ohlsson recorded his first shutout of the season in PSU's 1-0 win over Keene State, the Panthers' only game of the week. Ohlsson made six saves in the game, four in the first half, blanking a team that was averaging two goals per game.
A 6'1", 164-pound midfielder, Karlstrand scored the game-winning goal in the win over the Owls. Playing in his first game in a month and only his second game of the season, he scored on a rebound in the 61st minute for the only goal of the game.
PSU, 3-7-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the Little East, plays two more home games this week – Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. against non-conference foe Daniel Webster College and Saturday at 1:00 p.m. vs. LEC rival University of Southern Maine.
