Lindeberg named Co-Goalkeeper of the Week

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The starting goalkeeper from the Plymouth State University men's soccer team was recognized by the Little East Conference (LEC) on Monday for his performance over the last week.

Sophomore Linus Lindeberg (Stockholm, Sweden) was named the LEC Men's Soccer Co-Goalkeeper of the Week, along with UMass Dartmouth freshman Jacob Castro (Swansea, Mass.).

In his only action of the week, Lindeberg squared off against Castro and the Corsairs in the LEC opener at Arold Field on Saturday. Lindeberg made six saves to hold UMass Dartmouth scoreless through 110 minutes of action to record his first shutout of the season and second of his career.

Castro, for his part, also made six saves and earned the shutout as the game ended in a scoreless draw.

Lindeberg is currently third in the LEC in save percentage (.774) and fifth in the league in goals against average (1.24) after logging 510:00 in goal this season.

The Panthers are back in action on Saturday (Sept. 22) when they travel to Southern Maine for another LEC tilt. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
