PSU Men’s Indoor Track & Field athletes garner LEC honors

Lewis, Panthers' 4x200 relay team honored

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Sophomore Terrell Lewis (Nashua, N.H.) and the Plymouth State University 4x200-meter relay team were among those honored as the Little East Conference (LEC) announced its weekly men's indoor track & field award recipients on Monday.

Lewis was named the LEC Men's Indoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week, while the quartet of freshmen Tucker Gosselin (Sanbornville, N.H.) and Noah Couitt (Swansea, Mass.), senior Isaiah Bolden (Dover, N.H.) and Lewis were named the LEC Relay Team of the Week.

Lewis was a double winner as the Panthers earned their first program win at the PSU Winter Classic on Saturday. He took the individual title in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.61 seconds while also grabbing the win in the long jump with a leap of 6.36 meters.

The Panthers' 4x200-meter relay team finished second with a time of 1:36.27. PSU crossed the line just 0.31 seconds behind the winning team from Fitchburg State University. It was the second fastest time among all D3 New England teams across all meets for the weekend.

PSU held off the Falcons for the team title. The Panthers accumulated 159 points to edge out Fitchburg State, which earned 146.50, for the program's first win.

Plymouth State is off for a month for final exams and the holiday break before returning to action on Jan. 12 for the Middlebury Winter Classic at Middlebury College.
