Panthers' distance medley relay named Relay Team of the Week

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Just days after an impressive season debut for the Plymouth State University men's indoor track and field distance medley relay team, the Panther quartet has earned Little East Conference (LEC) weekly honors.

Seniors Warren Bartlett (Loudon, N.H.) and Sam Brunnette (Newport Center, Vt.) and juniors Noah Byington (Hanscom AFB, Mass.) and Nate Belanger (Newmarket, N.H.) joined forces for the season's top performance in the DMR in the nation to earn LEC Men's Indoor Track & Field Relay Team of the Week honors.

The foursome combined for a time of 10:19.89 to win the event at the Panther Invitational on Saturday. The time set a new school record, smashed the previous Davis Track record by more than 25 seconds and, after factoring in banked track conversion, is currently the fastest time in all of NCAA Division III.

Plymouth State took advantage of the home-track advantage, capturing its third team title of the season. PSU amassed 150 points to top Eastern Connecticut State (125) and Keene State (88) in the team standings.

The Panthers are head to Boston University for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 9).
