Lewis, Rigoli and Baker all honored for the Panthers

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – After a strong performance at the USM Invitational on Saturday, a trio of Plymouth State University men's indoor track & field athletes have been selected for Little East Conference (LEC) honors.

Junior Terrell Lewis (Nashua, N.H.) was named LEC Track Athlete of the Week, sophomore Jacob Rigoli (Essex, Vt.) was picked as Field Athlete of the Week and freshman Mikey Baker (Westford, Vt.) took home Field Rookie of the Week honors, respectively.

Lewis had another strong day to move up the national rankings list in the 60m hurdles. He was the top qualifier in the 55m hurdles, then won the finals with a time of 7.60. When converted to a 60m time it vaulted him up to ninth in the country. He also added a second-place finish in the long jump after covering 6.33 meters.

Rigoli picked up his second weekly honor after becoming the first Panther in program history to eclipse the 17-meter mark in the weight throw. He accomplished the feat with a toss covering 17.01 meters to win the event. The distance is currently tied for 19th in the nation. Rigoli also finished 11th in the shot put with a throw covering 12.36 meters.

Baker finished second in the pole vault on Saturday after clearing 4.40 meters, a mark that is tied for 37th nationally. The height also matched Plymouth State's program record.

The Panthers head to Tufts University on Saturday (Feb. 1) for the Branwen Smith-King Invitational.
