Bolden honored for Panther men; 4x200 relay team recognized for women
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Five Plymouth State University track & field student-athletes were honored Monday by the Little East Conference (LEC) for their performances in the Dartmouth College Indoor Classic last Saturday.
Freshman Isaiah Bolden (Dover, N.H.) was named LEC Men's Track Rookie of the Week, and PSU's 4x200 meter relay team of freshman Amanda Bomely (Middletown, Conn.), senior Cierra Dion (Manchester, N.H./Central), and freshmen Allbanie Anderson (Somersworth, N.H.) and Diana Perez (Cranston, R.I.) were tabbed as the LEC Women's Track Relay Team of the Week. They all competed in the Dartmouth Classic, a non-scoring event with more than a dozen teams from all three NCAA Divisions.
Bolden had another terrific performance in the 60 meter dash on Saturday, placing third among 45 competitors. He finished second in the preliminaries with a season-best time of 7.08 seconds, and lowered that mark in the finals to 7.02 to place third. Bolden was an LEC and New England Rookie of the Week earlier this season after strong performances in the long jump and the 60 meter hurdles.
The PSU women's relay team completed the 4x200 meter race in 1:52.21 at Dartmouth, placing third overall and posting the team's best mark of the season in the event. It is the second time this season that PSU's 4x200 meter contingent has earned the LEC Relay Team of the Week honor.
The Panther men's and women's teams are gearing up for the Little East Conference Championships and the New England Alliance Championships, both held this Saturday at PSU's new George Davis Track. The first field events begin at 11:00 a.m. with the final race slated to start at 6:20 p.m.
