Panthers with high expectations for 2019

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University outdoor track and field head coach John Ostler has high expectations for his programs in 2019. The fifth-year head coach announced the teams' spring schedules today.

            The men's and women's programs will compete in six meets, including the Little East Conference and New England Alliance Championship meet. Additionally, select athletes will also attending elite meets and last chance qualifiers in advance of the national championship meet.

            The Panthers open the season at the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 30, hosted by Tufts University, before making the short trip to Southern New Hampshire University for the SNHU Opener on Apr. 6.

            Select athletes will head to Connecticut College on Apr. 12 for the Silfen Elite Distance Carnival (and Decathlon), with the rest of the team returning to SNHU for the Penmen Relays on Apr. 13.

            Plymouth State returns to Tufts on Apr. 20 for the Sunshine Classic in advance of the LEC/New England Alliance Championships at Fitchburg State on Apr. 27.

            Those athletes who reach qualifying standards will represent Plymouth State at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship meet (site to be determined) on May 3 & 4, and MIT will hold its annual Last Chance meet on May 16, as a last chance for individuals to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

            If all goes according to plan, multiple Panthers will compete for a national title at the NCAA Division III National Championship in Geneva, Ohio from May 23 – 25. The meet is co-hosted by the University of Mount Union and Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.
