PSU Men’s Outdoor Track & Field athlete claims LEC honors

Lewis selected as Track Athlete of the Week

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Following a dynamic performance at the Sunshine Classic at Tufts University on Saturday, a member of the Plymouth State University men's outdoor track & field program has earned Little East Conference (LEC) weekly honors.

Sophomore Terrell Lewis (Nashua, N.H.) was named the LEC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week.

Lewis nearly missed establishing a new school record in the 110-meter hurdles after finishing second in 14.87 seconds – just 0.03 seconds shy of the previous mark. His time easily met qualifying standards for the NCAA Division III New England Championships next month and is currently the second fastest in New England and top-20 in the nation.

He added a fifth-place finish in the long jump after covering 6.28 meters.

Lewis is currently on the cusp of qualifying for New England's in the high jump and long jump. His season best of 1.88 meters in the high jump is just 0.02 meters shy of the qualifying mark, while his top long jump distance of 6.36 meters is shy of the standard by just 0.04.

Plymouth State visits Fitchburg State University on Saturday (Apr. 22) for the Little East Conference Championships.
