PSC-Castleton games wiped out
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - All four Plymouth State College spring sports teams had games affected by the recent inclement weather, including three postponements or cancellations on Monday.
The PSC softball doubleheader slated for Monday at Castleton State was cancelled. The non-conference twinbill will not be made up. PSC, 11-1 overall and ranked #2 in New England in this week's Division III poll, hopes to return to action Thursday with a doubleheader at New England College (3:00 p.m.), followed by the home opener Saturday against Eastern Connecticut (1:00 p.m.)
The Panther women's lacrosse contest scheduled for Monday at Gordon College was wiped out and will not be rescheduled. PSC, 3-2, is slated to open defense of its Little East Conference championship on Saturday, facing Western Connecticut in the home opener (12:00 p.m.).
PSC's first LEC men's lacrosse game, which was supposed to be played Monday at Salem State, was postponed. The LEC contest has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Apr. 22, at Salem, Mass. PSC, 1-3, hopes to play its first two home games this week at Panther Field - Wednesday against Gordon (3:30 p.m.) and Saturday vs. Keene State (2:00 p.m.).
The Panther baseball team had its home opener postponed for the second time when Wednesday's (Apr. 2) planned game at Panther Park against Lyndon State was cancelled. The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Apr. 30, as part of a non-conference doubleheader. PSC already has a single game scheduled at Lyndon State that day. The Panthers, 5-6 overall, hope to get back into action Thursday at Colby-Sawyer (3:00 p.m.)
